I am absolutely in love with this Eli Saab gown on Mila Kunis this last sunday at the Oscars. It has gorgeous draping lines in all the right places creating a Grecian look, but with an added romantic vibe as well caused by the textured lace.

Not to mention the beautiful lavender color that is so well complented by her skin and hair color.

Deffinate number one on my best dressed list!

By now everyone's heard of the suspension of John Galliano from Dior due to allegedly making anti-semetic remarks to a woman in a cafe. Dior's no-tolerance for disrespect towards culture/relgion is respectable, but I don't know how I feel about suspending a head designer on what is basically someone's "word".

Nonetheless, this man puts on an amazing show.

My posts are a-lacking. School is intense. But I had to research some companies for my project and I am doing Mackage for one of them, and currently falling in love with some pieces!

I was surprised they are a Canadian company. Their an outerwear focused brand that first began mainly with leathers, but just did their first RTW this year. Not bad for a outerwear company expanding into new product lines. I think I prefer their coats though. They got some good detailing on their pieces too, like oversized collars and some unique cuts.

So, I'm pretty sure I need a new camera because all my photo's came out horribly!

(Hint hint DSLR for christmas please?)

Anyway, these are some that came out decent from local designer, Nicole Bridger's show at Eco Fashion Week, which was in the Olympic Village.

P.s, I would like to live in the Olympic village.

The clothes were cute with lots of pretty draping and I guess making clothing out of sustainable fabrics is pretty great by itself. I just wish that in doing that the garments could be a little more exciting. Still, some very cute peices I'd like to wear! Really loved some of the shorts and dresses.

I have been waiting so long to wear this cape out that I bought from H&M about a month ago.

The weather is finally starting to suit it.

FMA Fashion Week and Portobello West

I am back!

I have been crazy busy with events, school, and personal life, but I am trying to find time for myself and that equals me blogging. = )

School has been going pretty great, I really love the program I am in and it has motivated me to start going to events again.

First event of September that I attended was the last show of FMA Fashion week. They held it at club 560. Unfortunately, I went on my own and didn't get a outfit photo of myself, but I did get some of the first show.

I didn't get to stay for Malene Grotrain, which I was really dissapointed with, but I caught Queen of Jeans. Which I was also kinda dissapointed with.

Unless your a flashy, Ed Hardy lover, you deffinately wont love this.

Second event I went too was Portobello West, which was held at the Rocky Mountaineer Station. It's a bit like an exhibition or trade show and is every last sunday of every month.

It was deffinately more crafty then anything. There was alot of Jewelry and not so much apparel. But these are some shots of some of the stands.
One I really liked is the one in the last photo. They're like scarves!

And lastly, this is what I wore to Portobello!

I came across Keiko Lynn's blog and saw this picture. I was going to write this for my friend Rachel since she desperatly wants the studded bottom Alexander Wang bag, but I just realized the bag is sold out! However, I'll show you anyways since it also comes in Ivory.

This Carpenter Bee Bag is very similar and can be purchased at the Spotted Moth website. Wang's bag is absolutely gorgeous but for a girl with no job I think this is much more practical. Haha.

The only thing is I'm not sure about ordering from this site since its one I've never heard of. Also, assuming the leather is sinthetic because of how cheap it is, I'm not sure how nice it would look in person. Otherwise, I'd be purchasing it myself, but I'm a little weird when it comes to ordering things online.

Here's a few I didn't get to add in

This is the way to do pants at the costume gala! Tina Fey's attempt was just not glamorous enough, not to mention she was a little heavy on the make up. Chanel looks "fierce" in this Micheal Kors jumpsuit.

Who styles Kristen Stewart?! Better yet, WHO DOES HER HAIR, because everytime I see this girl in photographs at any event it looks something along the lines of this. Is this attractive to anyone? Maybe everything from the Chanel to her hair is alright, it's just ruined by how badly she photographs.

I love the idea of this Proenza Schouler dress. I'm going to assume it doesn't photograph well. I could do without the shoes as well.

So even though I watched the VS show online the other day I decided to T-VO the show last night anyway and watch it again. I think its been alot better in the past, but I do know one thing, I would like to look half as good as Heidi a few months after I have a baby! ...in the far far far future of course.... Anyway, the whole futuristic theme I don't really love, however I'm always down for a good hippie and some lace with a fur throw over it. As for the enchanted forest, I feel it's a little over done. Oh! I did love that Leather Jacket Fergie wore in the first performance though.

American Apparel Sale on Day Two

So the American Apparel Sale, at the PNE, for the most part sucked. If I waited longer then I did, which was only like an hour or so, I would have been pretty upset. I guess I'm not really one who shops at American Apparel anyway, but I thought there would be some decent things. I expected all Larges. I really think the only way you would have got some stuff is if you were first in line and stood infront of the staff members opening boxes and asked you to hand them whatever you wanted. Which they did. But it was all crap. You'd have too stay there all day to get several decent things. Anway, I left with two turtleneck dresses one a maroon colour and another a forest green, very christmas-y, I know. Also, this deep V dress in Creme and Lapis. The other girls I went with got the same Creme Deep V dress, and I thought it be funny if we for one of our Christmas Parties we all wore it but accessorized it differently. Since I will probably need to accessorize both dresses a bit to make them at all flatering. Anyway, that was my experience at the sale!

So, After my dentist appointment today I thought I would get ahead on my christmas shopping. Well.. I ended up buying some stuff for myself instead. :S I swear i'll go again soon! But, for some reason, this year, I have no idea what to get for anyone! Selfishness is so not cute.

Anyway, these are two of the things I brought home with me. I found these adorable taupe suede studded pumps from zara & this cobalt tank from Forever 21. I loved the beaded detail on it! I also saw this gorgeous clutch sized handbag. It was grey suede with this beautiful gold sequin detailing on the front flap of the bag, with a long chain. Oh my! I want it so bad. I didn't have money for both the shoes and bag so I settled with just the shoes for now. I will go back my next paycheck though and hopefully its still there!

I love the Sequin trend this season. In moderation of course! But a super cute Sequin mini with an oversized or even cropped Blazer is absolutly adorable and perfect for all the holiday parties this season. Aritzia 25th anniversary sale

So on my break I went to the Aritzia 25th anniversary sale. It was 10%,20% or 30% off certain items. I wanted to go so I could grab that silk blazer. And I did! of course they upped the price since I last saw it so in the end I was paying the same price. But it is quite adorable so I had too. I also got this gorgeous oversized greyish taupe colored wool sweater. It's so cozy and huge, I love it! However, my boyfriend said it looked like a robe. Ha, but I have no choice but too love it because I have no choice to return anything & I used the plastic. In the end, I spent quite a pretty penny. Haha. Ill post pictures later.
